Fever hosts its first youth football camp

PASCO, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever had a bye week this weekend, but the players still took the field. Quarterback Houston Lillard and wide receiver Steven Whitehead organized their first youth football camp. The two day event was held out at Pasco's Highland Park. The camp brought out dozens of kids ranging from elementary to high school. The camp focused on learning new football skills and techniques. The kids, parents and the Fever players involved all had a great time.

"I think it's wearing us out more than it's wearing them out. But we 're out here having fun, we got the parents involved they happy to be out here. The kids are having fun and they're showing a lot of competitiveness with each other and just having a good time," Lillard said.

"I just let them know that they're capable of doing anything they want. Not only in sports, not only in football but in anything in life. Never limit yourself and allow all the possibilities that can happen because when you think about it you can do it and it's really possible. I'm just glad I have this chance to be out here with these kids," Whitehead said.

The Fever (7-0) Host the New Mexico Stars this Friday at the Toyota Center.
