"Joe (Pistorese) was solid for us and our bullpen gave us a good outing," Washington State Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. "Offensively, we got some big hits in the eighth inning."

The Cougars scored in each of the first-two innings to take a 2-0 lead. Kyle Johnson led off the game with a single and stole second. After Patrick Claussen singled, Johnson came home on a ground out by Taylor Ard. In the second, Jason Monda blasted his first home run of the season.
