Tri-City Americans reflect on legendary series, learn upcoming schedule

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- On to the Western Conference finals for the Tri-City Americans. Wednesday night Tri-City came out winners in one of the greatest Americans-Chiefs playoff series to date. Game seven resulted in a 3-2 victory for the Americans. They fought back from a third period deficit to the Chiefs.

Both head coaches talk about how great of a series this was. "There wasn't one shift in the last 12 days, seven games, that either team could have relaxed for. So again, I go back to the players and say, imagine. We all got to watch. Imagine those guys having to live through that. They're teenagers," Americans head coach Jim Hiller said.

"It's pretty intense. It would have been a Cinderella story, you know, where we finished and how young we are in certain areas of our team. We took them to the well. I know they're over there saying that wasn't an easy series," Chiefs head coach Don Nachbauer added.
