A young boy in Seattle got the surprise of a lifetime over the weekend after being invited to run onto the field at Safeco field during a break at the Mariners home opener.

Kyle was given the opportunity to participate in the "Steal a Base" contest, and was told to run to second base as fast as he could. So he did. When he got there he was surprised to see his father, Fist Sergeant Steve Smerer there dressed up as an umpire.

Smerer had just returned from a tour in Afghanistan and decided to surprise his family at the baseball game. And what a surprise it was!
