    Royce Bolinger hit two consecutive home runs as Gonzaga defeated the University of Hawai'i 9-3 to complete the four-game non-conference sweep Sunday afternoon.
    Royce Bolinger hit two consecutive home runs and Billy Moon struck out four batters in 6 1/3 innings as the Gonzaga University baseball team defeated the University of Hawai'i 9-3 to complete the four-game non-conference sweep Sunday afternoon.

Gonzaga's Royce Bolinger was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after helping the Zags to a four game sweep over Hawaii.

Bolinger went 9-of-17 (.529) in the series against the Warriors last week. He had three home runs and seven RBI.

In the series opener, he drove in the eventual winning run in the first inning in the Bulldogs' 4-1

 win. He went 4-of-8 with three runs and two RBI in Saturday's double-header. He hit his first home run in the series to help Gonzaga shut out Hawaii 4-0 in game one. On Sunday, he hit a two-run homer, and then hit another home run at his next at-bat.

Gonzaga begins conference play on Friday against Pepperdine – a game seen LIVE on SWX. They will play the Waves again on Saturday and Sunday before hosting Washington State next Tuesday.


BYU's Marshall Named Pitcher of the Week

BYU freshman hurler Mason Marshall is the Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week. Marshall picked up his first collegiate win in BYU's 12-inning victory and a save in a 10-inning victory at Portland. Marshall set down the side in order over three innings in a 12-inning triumph at Portland in the series opener, and clinched the series win over the Pilots by closing the door in the tenth of Saturday's finale. Marshall has yet to allow an earned run in 14.1 innings of work this season, striking out 14 batters.
