Pe Ell's Sami Jo Robinson had a chance to send the game into overtime with a 3-point shot as time expired against White Swan. But she missed the shot just before time expired. The game would have ended there, except she was fouled.
With 0.1 seconds left in the game, Robinson stepped up to the free throw line and made the first shot. The crowd went wild. She missed the second shot, and with it the chance to advance to the semifinal found of the state 2B tournament.
Instead, the day would belong to White Swan, as the Cougars sneaked away with a 49-47 win.
White Swan's Cayla Jones led all scorers with 21. She also had 6 rebounds. Amber Jones scored 12.
Alissa Brooks-Johnson led the way for Pe Ell with 18 points and eight rebounds. Amber Arrington chipped in 11 points.
Pe Ell shot just 26 percent from the field, while White Swan did slightly better at 40 percent.
