Washington State is playing with some much-need confidence heading into this weekend's home finale against rival Washington.
The Cougars (14-13, 6-9 Pac-12) returned to practice on Wednesday to prepare for the Huskies (19-8, 12-3 Pac-12) on Saturday night. They are coming off a convincing win over Arizona State, a win in which they held the Sun Devils to just eight points in the first half.
"With the last game we've taken a few steps forward" said senior Brock Motum. "We've come up short against Oregon and a few other games but I think winning this game will be good momentum going into L.A."
"It's about us trying to be as good as we can be night in and night out," added coach Ken Bone. "Now we're trying to place ourselves in a position where we are healthy and playing out best basketball at the end of the season, getting ready for conference play."
Saturday's game against Washington tips off at 5 p.m. (PT). Washington is currently tied for first place in the Pac-12 with California. WSU sits at No. 8.
