CRANBROOK, B.C. -- The Spokane Chiefs dropped their third straight game as a three goal first period lifted the Kootenay Ice to a 4-2 win over the Chiefs Friday night in Cranbrook, B.C. The season series is now tied at 2-2 between the two.

Joe Antilla started a 3 goal first for Kootenay with a goal 7:13 into the period. Drew Czerwonka would make it 2-0 Ice at 12:50 of the first. The Chiefs would draw within 2-1 when Marek Kalus scored his 16th goal of the season at 14:40 of the period. Kootenay would conclude their 3 goal first when Max Reinhart scored at 15:53 to make it 3-1 Kootenay after one.

In the second, Jon Martin scored on a rebound at 12:42 to extend the Ice lead to 4-1. Spokane would cut the lead to 4-2 as Dominick Uher would deflect a Brenden Kichton shot at 16:45 of the second. Kalus also picked up an assist on Uher's team leading 23rd goal of the year.

Uher would pick up his second of the night and 24th of the year from Blake Gal at 11:17 of the third but that was as close as Spokane got as the Chiefs commited two late penalties to prevent themselves from pulling goalie Eric Williams in the closing minute. Spokane outshot Kootenay 28-22 in the game.

Spokane will continue their 4 game road trip Saturday night in Kennewick against the Tri City Americans. Mike Boyle will have the call on 790 KJRB beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30pm and the puck drop at 7:05pm.
