SPOKANE, Wash. -
Cowbells and vuvuzelas are okay. Air horns and drums are not. The Spokane Shock clarified its noisemaker policy Tuesday in anticipation of the start of the AFL season on March 12.
Also disallowed under the updated policy are items such as whistles and cymbals. The Shock said they reserve the right to remove any other noisemaker if it "interferes with other fans' enjoyment of the game"
This week's update comes after the AFL deemed Spokane Arena the rowdiest venue in all the league going back 25 years.
"There is no question that we have the best fans in the AFL bar-none," said Shock Director of Ticket Sales Andrew Dolan in a news release. "We want to take advantage of our home field while maintaining the family fun atmosphere that we have provided for our fans the last six seasons."
The Shock open the 2012 on March 12 against the Iowa Barnstormers. Tickets are still available for opening night and can be purchased through TicketsWest.com, or the Shock ticket office at 509-242-7462.
