The Spokane Shock announced that WR Verran Tucker has been added to the 2012 roster. Tucker has an impressive football resume that includes 19 games of NFL-experience with the Kansas City Chiefs, the most of any Shock player in franchise history.

The 6-foot-2 205 pound receiver played in four preseason games earlier this year for the Chiefs and averaged over 22 yards/catch (22.7). In 2010, Tucker played in 12 games for the Chiefs – including a playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens – and started in two of them. As a receiver, Tucker collected six receptions for 114 yards with a touchdown. The former Cal-Bear also made contributions on special teams collecting 12 tackles.

In 2010, Tucker was signed by the Dallas Cowboys who released him and was immediately picked up by the Chiefs. Tucker spent the final two seasons of his collegiate career at Cal where he collected 50 receptions for 815 yards with four touchdowns in 23 games. Prior to Cal, Tucker was tabbed as a three-star junior college prospect by Scout.com. In junior college, Tucker collected 42 receptions for 767 yards and 13 touchdowns. During his four-year collegiate career, Tucker recorded 92 receptions for 1,582 yards with 17 touchdowns.

"Verran has a big upside, especially with this NFL-experience," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden explained. "He has great hands and runs very efficient routes. He is a great addition to any roster, we are just happy to have him here in Spokane."

Head Coach Andy Olson echoed those same sentiments.

"He has faced some top-flight competition in the PAC-10 and the NFL," Olson said. "Obviously, he has proven himself in the outdoor game and I'm excited to teach him the Arena game."

The Shock will open up the 2012 season on Monday, March 12th hosting the Iowa Barnstormers. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting the Shock office at 509 242 7462. Single game tickets are also on sale now and can be purchased through TicketsWest.
