Sandpoint's Nate Holland Is Top American at U.S. Grand Prix

Updated:

Sandpoint native snowboarder Nate Holland didn't win the U.S. Grand Prix snowboardcross on Sunday in Utah, but he did win nonetheless.

Holland, the only American to advance to the finals at Canyons Resort, crashed with Jarryd Hughes, from Australia, and missed out on placing at the event. But he did take the green jacket as the national champion for the United States.

Austria's Markus Schairer and teammate Alessandro Haemmerle fished first and second. Hughes finished third.
