Whitworth Moves Up to No. 9

The Whitworth Pirates survived a scare against Pacific Lutheran last week, won anyway, and got a No. 9 ranking out of the deal on Monday.

The new D3Hoops.net ranking is one higher than they were last week – No. 10. The Bucs are now 18-3 overall and 11-1 in the Northwest Conference. They are the highest-ranked team in the country with more than two losses.

Whitworth has a three game lead in the conference standings, and if they win both games this coming weekend they will clinch their third straight NWC championship. The Pirates play at Linfield on Friday and at Pacific (Ore.) on Saturday.
