The Spokane Shock continued to stock pile talent with the addition of DE James Ruffin to the 2012 roster, the team announced.

At 6-foot-4 and 264 pounds, Ruffin was most recently a member of the Cincinnati Bengals where he appeared in four preseason games in 2011. In 2010, Ruffin signed as a free-agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and after he was released spent the remainder of the season as a member of the Bengals' practice squad.

A product of Northern Iowa University, Ruffin was a two-time All-American and earned all-conference honors three times. As a Panther, Ruffin collected 191 tackles with 24 sacks in 48 games. Ruffin was selected as the Conference's Defensive Player of the Year after his junior and senior season, becoming just the sixth player to win the award in back-to-back seasons.

"James Ruffin had amazing production in college and his stats showed that," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden explained. "He has NFL-size and experience and that caught our attention immediately. Although he is a rookie to the Arena game, he has the skills to make an immediate impact."

The Shock will open the 2012 season on Monday March 12th. Single game tickets will go on sale through TicketsWest on Wednesday, February 1st. Season tickets start at just $90 are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting the Shock Ticket Office at 509 242 7462.
