PASCO, Wash. -- Chiawana seniors Jordan Downing and Miquiyah Zamora are taking their football talents to Cheney.
Zamora chose Eastern Washington ahead of Western Oregon. Downing, an all-state linebacker, chose Eastern Washington over Central Washington. Zamora will redshirt in the fall, and plans on being a safety at the next level. Downing will stay at linebacker. The two are excited to remain teammates.
"That's going to help you know I mean I thought we were going to get away from each other for once but it doesn't look that way. We're probably going to be rooming together next year, and it'll be fun to continue that friendship up there," Downing said.
"They were there the whole time. He came during the season, the recruiter came during the season. He was calling in regularly. That was really big to me," Zamora added.
