YAKIMA, Wash. -- This week's academic all-star will be on our SWX broadcast of the East Valley-Prosser doubleheader. She is East Valley senior Yasamin Mohsenian.
The first place East Valley girls have a group of smart players, but.. "Yasi Mohsenian is probably the stand-out. She's our team captain. She's also the team captain in soccer. She's been a four-year player for me here, just a great leader," said Robi Raab, East Valley head coach.
Mohsenian has a 3.96 GPA. Her top choice for college is the University of Washington. She wants to study pharmacy. "I just want to be able to help people out, but I'm not really good with the blood and stuff, so I feel like, working more with the chemicals and chemistry side of the medical field, it'd be a lot better for me," Mohsenian said.
Mohsenian is involved in National Honor Society, soccer and track. She enjoys any kind of competition. "It's just fun, and it's just a chance to go out there and play against other people and get to know other people. It's just a great thing to do," Mohsenian said.
"She can take care of everything, whether it's rebounding or shooting the basketball, handling the basketball. Whatever we need done, she takes care of." Raab added.
