WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- This week's academic all-star is Walla Walla senior Kyle Jameson. He is one of those students who found inspiration for his future through one particular class and teacher.
"Computer technology class, taught by Dennis DeBroeck at the high school. It's been -- he has been an inspiration and that class has been the place where I've learned to develop that passion for computer technology," Jameson said.
The senior has a 4.0 GPA. He takes AP classes in chemistry, physics, calculus and history.
"He's going to be successful whatever he does. You know, he's got that work ethic, and I had him in class. I just that saw from the beginning. He works real hard in class. That kind of work ethic is something that's going to take him a long ways," said John Golden, Walla Walla head coach and history teacher.
Jameson likes programming, application development and software development. He wants to study computer science at either the University of Idaho or the Air Force Academy. Jameson is on the air rifle team that competes around the Pacific Northwest.
"I like the competition, the mental focus that it takes, and it's just another chance to compete," Jameson said.
