The gondola ride itself is a sight to be seen, but that's not the only thing that will take your breath away at Silver Mountain Resort in North Idaho.
They had more than 30-inches of snow the day we explored the mountain, and by the time you read this (and see the accompanying video report) there will be a lot more. That's great for skiers, but sliding down a mountain isn't the only thing to do around the resort that dates back to the 1800s.
Silver Mountain is nestled in the heart of silver country. There are many unique nuggets the ski resort boats, including Idaho's largest indoor water park, Silver Rapids.
"It's about the size of a football field under a roof, it's a perfect climate-controlled 84 degrees, the water is 82 and we have something for everybody," said the park's manager.
The resort also has the largest passenger-carrying gondola in the world. The views are spectacular.
Silver Mountain also has a new run for the kids called Gold Pan Alley.
"It's an adventure trail that goes through the trees, around another lane and then up a couple of bumps, and it pops out on the ski run," said the manager.
If you want a slower adventure there is a fantastic loop for snowshoeing – a perfect workout.
From the slopes to Galena Ridge Golf Course (in the spring and summer, of course) there is truly something for everyone at Silver Mountain.
