Junior forward Elias Harris knows fans and the media have high expectations for him this year. But after a tumultuous year last season he says he's used to it and more prepared to handle the hype.

"I'm learning from last year to take everything step by step, don't look ahead or think about the media hype," said Harris. "Just step by step, and that's how I'm going to approach the season."

Harris made the comments during the second part of an interview play-by-play commentator Greg Heister conducted for SWX. When Heister pressed the German-born forward prognosticate, he refused.

"I'm just going to ignore it this year," he said. "Even though you media guys are still going to ask me that, I'm still going to ignore it!"

So, on to other topics. Like, hair. Harris has let the hair grow since last spring and said he doesn't plan on chopping it off anytime soon.

And then back to basketball: what is the one thing fans CAN expect from Harris this year? What's the "wow factor, asked Heister?

"I think back to freshman year, doing those things I did: run the court as fast as I can," said Harris. "Being aggressive at all times, just being way more active than I was last year."

If that's all he does this season there is surely to be a large contingency of Zag fans that will be perfectly happy with that. Welcome back, Elias Harris.
