Interval training is an effective workout but not one for the faint of heart - just ask Michelle Dapper! (Photo: SWX)

Looking for a good, low-impact workout to get your heart rate up, burn a lot of calories and build your strength and conditioning? Try intervals.
An interval workout consists of four exercises: frog jumps, running man, walking pushups and high-knee running. Each is done consecutively for 15 seconds, followed by a one-minute rest. Repeat four times for an entire workout.
To do frog jumps, stand with legs shoulder-width apart, bend down to touch the floor and then jump straight up with hands reaching to the sky.
To do the running man exercise, place your hands on the floor in front of you, then run in place with your feet behind you.
Walking pushups are done by getting into the regular push up position, moving your hands and body to the right once, doing a pushup, then moving to the left and doing a pushup. Repeat the process for 15 seconds.
Finally, for high-knees running run in place brining your knees has high as possible for 15 seconds.
