Mead Wrestler Decides on Oklahoma State

He is a two-time state champion and ranked No. 1 in the country by Intermatwrestle.com, and he is headed to Stillwater, Okla.

Jordan Rogers, from Mead High School, signed his Letter of Intent Monday morning to wrestle for the prestigious Oklahoma State Cowboys. A senior this year and wrestling at 182 pounds, Rogers is the favorite to win a third state title for the Panthers.

"They have phenomenal wrestlers," said Rogers of OSU. "Every year they have produced phenomenal wrestlers and I really want to go be part of something great there. Their technique fits my style of wrestling well and you can't go wrong with Coach Smith. There's great coaching there and I'm just excited to learn some techniques from them."

Several other schools pursued Rogers, including Cornell, Iowa, Stanford and Penn State.
