KENNEWICK, Wash -- Former Washington State star quarterback Ryan Leaf was in Kennewick Monday, signing copies of his autobiography.
'596 Switch' is the title of the book. It is also the play Leaf would have run if time did not expire on him in the 1998 Rose Bowl. The book is the first in a three part series. There is a lot about his days as a Cougar and his later struggles. Leaf was drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. Leaf says writing the book was therapeutic.
"This started in rehab. That started at the recovery center journaling and ultimately it's therapeutic," Leaf said. "It's almost like this first book was really my journal, and you don't expect your journal to be published and it kind of did. I hope people really enjoy it."
