San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was excited after his team's 25-19 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Perhaps a little too excited.
When the game was finally over Harbaugh approached Lions coach Jim Schwartz and gave him a handshake. Well, okay, it was more than a handshake; it was a hand slap. And Schwartz didn't like it too much.
Schwartz chased Harbaugh all the way to the tunnel, with players from both sides pushing and shoving each other along the way.
"I really screwed up. That wasn't me, just shook his hand too hard… that's on me The handshake was too hard," Harbaugh later said.
Schwartz said he was surprised by Harbaugh's celebration.
