Former Washington State kicker Jason Hanson is having one of his best seasons with the Detroit Lions this year.
Speaking about his long career with Detroit, Hanson said it has been like a roller coaster ride: a lot of ups and downs through the years.
The Lions are off to their best start since 1980 and their best start since Hanson has been a part of the team.
"Whether we're special or not is something yet to be determined," said Hanson, believing everyone will know in the coming weeks whether Detroit is just another decent team, or if they are great team.
Asked whether he remembers his record 62-yard field goal against UNLV while kicking for Washington State, Hanson said, "I do, I do!" He still keeps in contact with his former teammates and follows the Cougars, hoping they will be able to turn things around soon.
