Washington State, after going 2-0 at home to start the season, takes its show on the road to play the Aztecs of San Diego State in what will be somewhat of a bigger challenge than the previous two games.

Beating Idaho State and UNLV has instilled a new sense of confidence - swagger, if you will - in the Cougars. They have piled up 123 points already, which is almost what they scored during the entire season last year.

Saturday's game, while a road game, is also the final non-conference matchup of the season before opening Pac-12 play at Colorado. The Cougars say - and it's evident - that they're ready for the challenge.

"This is going to be a good test for our defense and a good test for our team," said sophomore cornerback Nolan Washington. "We get to play against a team that is very well coached and very sound, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm pumped up to see how we respond."

"I'm ready to play in the Chargers' stadium," added senior receiver Isaiah Barton. "It's a big stadium, so I'm excited about that."

Barton refers to Aztec Warrior Stadium, which is also called Qualcomm Stadium for NFL games. The facility seats more than 70,000 fans, but the stadium is usually just half-full for SDSU games.

Saturday's game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and can be seen on The Mtn.
