Former Washington State and NFL superstar Drew Bledsoe has his $5,000 bicycle back, and the man who allegedly took it is now charged with grand theft.
According to police in Coeur d'Alene, a 15-year-old boy called them to say a man named Brandon Edgemon came to his house and asked his sister to "watch a bike for me because the police are looking for it."
The boy's sister told him what happened and he found the bike in the bushes across the street from his house. He then locked the bike up so Edgemon could not get to it, and when Edgemon came back for the bike he became upset because he couldn't get it back.
Officers responded to the boy's house and determined the bike being kept in the garage was indeed Bledsoe's.
Coeur d'Alene Detectives found out about the stolen bike case three days later and found Edgemon in jail after he had been arrested earlier for a warrant on a different charge. They added the grand theft charge for allegedly stealing the bicycle.
Officers contacted Bledsoe and made arrangements to return his bike to him. The bike did not appear to have any damages.
