The Vandals redeemed themselves with a 44-14 win over North Dakota on Saturday. It wasn't a shutout like last year, but good enough to swing momentum in their favor.

More encouraging, perhaps, is how Idaho fought back. North Dakota came on strong at the start, breaking out to a 14-3 lead in the first half. The Vandals found their groove in the second half and came out with the win.

"I am proud of the way the guys got some things taken care of and we started making some big plays, we got big plays going," said head coach Robb Akey. "Defensively, we got the ball back for our offense and kept points off the board."

Quarterback Brian Reader passed for 299 yards, including four touchdowns. Mike Scott had 99 yards receiving; Armauni Johnson had 97 yards. Both scored touchdowns. Running back Ryan Bass led the team in rushing with 57 yards and a score.

Akey said a win like last weekend's is what his team needs going into a tough game against Texas A&M.
