Washington State is off to its best start since 2005, going a perfect 2-0 with wins over Idaho State and UNLV. And what's more: the Cougars are - so far - the most productive offense in the country.

Two games into the season, Washington State has scored 123 points. That is more than any other team at the FBS level. Next comes Georgia Tech (112), Arkansas (103), South Carolina (101) and Stanford (101). They put up 64 against Idaho State, then followed it up with a 59-point performance against UNLV on Saturday.

Granted, the Cougars' first two opponents can't be considered top-notch defenses. Idaho State is at the bottom of the Big Sky, while UNLV is arguably the worst team in the Mountain West.

It is about to get tougher for the Cougars starting this coming weekend when they travel to San Diego State. And after the Aztecs they begin Pac-12 play against Colorado and UCLA.
