After starting the season 1-0 for the first time in six years, Washington State – and Cougar fans for that matter – hope they can sustain a winning streak.

Going 2-0 is possible if not likely.

Washington State welcome the UNLV Runnin' Rebels to Martin Stadium on Saturday. Expected to finish near the bottom of the Mountain West Conference again this year, UNLV could easily be overlooked. But not so fast.

"We just want to come out and take it one game at a time and one practice at a time," said now starting quarterback Marshall Lobbestael.

"They got a good young team," said coach Paul Wulff about the Rebels. "They're sound, they're not going to hurt themselves. We're going to have to play well."

UNLV lost 47-21 last week to Wisconsin, giving up 257-yards in passing. On the bright side, quarterback Caleb Herring threw a pair of touchdown passes and two running backs had more than 60-yards of rushing against the Badgers.

Head coach Bobby Hauck, who used to coach against Wulff in the Big Sky Conference while at Montana, said his young defense made a lot of mistakes but expects them to get better week-to-week.
