Extra Points: Female Kicker Tries Out at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech is trying out a new kicker. Her name is Lauren Luttrell. Yes, HER name.

Luttrell did so well, in fact, that VT's head coach Frank Beamer invited the prep soccer player turned football diva to next year's spring practice.

"Right now it's kind of tough to come out there and get a lot of attention. Things are happening so fast right now," said Beamer in the Washington Post.

Luttrell kicked for Spotsylvania High last year, where she converted 10 extra points and hit a 31-yard field goal.
