The Yakima Bears are anxious to make the playoffs

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- It has been a tale of two halves for the Yakima Bears. Luckily for them, they only need that second half division title to make the playoffs. The team says they have gotten into a groove And figured out what has worked for them to get those wins.

They still have a week to go and are hanging tight with Tri-City for the division lead. Bears third baseman Jimmy Comerota said, "It's exciting to get to this point of the season and still have a shot and so a game back is -- you'd rather be a game up but you know, we'll take it as it is. It's fun going into the last week being able to play for something." Bears shortstop Garrett Weber added, "This week is very important for us, but I think what we mainly need to do is just keep playing our own baseball and not try and do too much, you know stick with what we did in Everett, obviously worked out for us."
