Madden 2012, the most popular sports video game franchise on the planet, went on sale Tuesday with the Browns' Peyton Hillis on the cover.

Hillis earned the Madden cover in a fan vote, beating out Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick in the final tally.

Something new to the game this year is how the players on the game enter the field. Player entrances are now a part of the game, something the developers spent a lot of time to perfect.

"I think the hardest part was finding all these photo angles and videos that actually tell us what was going on in each team's stadiums," said Mike Young, Creative Director for Madden '12 on SWX Tonight. "In Seattle we added the five foot Auger Hawk that flies out, the metal seahawk, the 12th Man flag, all the real pyro. Getting all those details right took us a lot of research."

Young said having Michael Vick as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles has changed the game dramatically. EA Sports can prove many, if not most, people want to play as the Eagles. There is also a vocal contingency who want the Eagles banned from the game.

"Michael Vick is literally a game-changer," said Young.

Other improvements to Madden '12 include a more responsive running system to offer players more minute control over special moves.
