If you take a drive down the palouse, you may hear a buzz in the air.  No, not the buzz of power lines, grasshoppers, or the 18-wheeler flying by you on highway 195.  I'm talking about the buzz that comes this time of year, every year, in Pullman--Cougar football!

"The vibe on the field, around campus, people feel it," WSU starting quarterback Jeff Tuel told SWX.  "It's exciting, we're all excited, fired up!"

Tuel and his teammates are determined to put last year's 2-10 season (1-8 in the Pac-10) behind them.  This year, they are expecting big things and by the sounds of it, are putting in the time on the field.

"We're doing a lot of good things out here and we know it, so that builds confidence for us.  We walk around here with swagger and can't wait to get out on the field."

Head Coach Paul Wulff has also been impressed with his squad.  "They have invested a lot of work and time.  They've worked hard to improve themselves individually and we've worked hard as a unit to improve our football team," said Wulff.

The Cougars open the season September 3rd at home against Idaho State.
