For Idaho coach Robb Akey, the focus for now is getting his players healthy before next week's season opener – and then keeping them healthy.

The Vandals have an early start to the season, with Bowling Green on the schedule next Thursday. The game is a rematch of the 2009 Humanitarian Bowl – a game Idaho won in dramatic fashion.

Akey says if he can keep all his players healthy he likes his chances in the first game of the season.

"I like a lot the way this camp has gone," said Akey. "These guys – the way they're working and the way they are doing things, we're coming together great as a team. I had a great conversation with our captains last night and that's what they're feeing back to me. That's a good thing."

Bowling Green is coming off a 10-loss season last year – the first time in school history a team has had a double-digit losing record. This year, though, the offensive line that gave them trouble is a year older and a lot wiser. Starting quarterback Matt Schilz, a redshirt freshman last year – has a little more experience under his belt. And the defense that struggled even more than the offense is headed in the right direction.
