Real Madrid Recruits, Signs 7-Year-Old Boy

Real Madrid may have gone where no one else has gone before in recruiting a seven-year old boy – yes seven – to play soccer.

The soccer team signed Leonel Angel Coira to its youth academy after seeing him in tryouts.

And did we mention he's seven?

According to the Associated Press, Coira's family moved to Spain from Argentina three years ago for work. The boy's father, Miguel, coaches at a local youth club, and that's where Real's scouts found Leonel. They signed him to a one-year contract, reportedly because rival Atletico Madrid was also looking at him.

Miguel Coira said his family doesn't receive any financial compensation from Real Madrid. But the club offers the boy ride to and from practice.

And one more thing: did we say he was just seven-years-old? He even has his own Facebook page and YouTube channel.
