KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - Dave Villwock rallied from fifth place early in the finals to win the 2011 Lamb Weston Columbia Cup hydroplane race on Sunday. Villwock had a perfect weekend, winning every heat he entered during the two days of racing on the Columbia River. But in the finals, Villwock had to race back from an early hole, overtaking Steve David in the Oh Boy! Oberto boat on the fourth lap of the five lap final. Villwock was able to steer his boat to victory even with the engine hood blowing off and the horizontal stabilizer wing breaking on the final lap. It was the 64th win of Villwock's career. David finished second, while Kip Brown took third driving the Red Dot boat.
