Year two of Camp Carroll kicked off Thursday for the Seattle Seahawks, as players new and returning filed into training camp.

Fresh off a surprising and improbable playoff run last season the ‘Hawks held their first walkthrough yesterday. Some notable players not attending this year's camp are Matt Hasselbeck who signed with Tennessee, and Lawyer Malloy who is still an unsigned free agent.

Some familiar faces making a return this year are, of course, coach Carroll and former Washington State Cougar Marcus Trufant. Charlie Whitehurst is also back and will compete with Tarvaris Jackson to be the starting quarterback this year.

"Everybody looks really good," said Trufant. "Everybody is excited, everybody looks quick, everybody looks fast and I think it's going to be a good year for us. All we can do is work hard and try to get

better."

"It feels great being back here with the team – your teammates, your coaches," said Whitehurst, who was sporting long hair and a full beard. "It's kind of like we never left even though we've been gone for a while. This is kind of what we're all born to do, and it feels great to be back."

As of Friday morning the Seahawks had signed all but one of their draft picks. First-rounder James Carpenter reached an agreement with the team late Thursday or early Friday. Third-round pick John Moffit is the lone pick left unsigned. Both he and Carpenter are expected to hold down the right side of the Seahawks' offensive line.

The Seahawks also came to terms with veteran linebacker Leroy Hill. A third-round pick in 2005, Hill missed most of last season with an Achilles injury.
