Former Washington State third baseman Matt Argyopoulos is returning to the Northwest after being promoted by the Colorado Rockies to the Tri-City Dust Devils.

Argyopoulos was the 828th overall pick in this year's draft and was initially assigned to the Casper Ghosts. He played 21 games with the Wyoming team, batting .217 with four home runs and 8 RBI in over 69 at-bats.

The Dust Devils made room for the former WSU star by moving infielder Jeff Squier to the Rockies' double-A affiliate in Tulsa. They also released first baseman Jordan Ballard.

Tri-City recently clinched the Northwest League East Division first-half title, securing themselves a spot in the postseason.
