Boise State will not be allowed to wear all blue at home on its blue turf for Mountain West Conference games, the Idaho Statesman reported on Tuesday.

The report said coach Chris Peterson called the rule "ridiculous", but it was a condition of the Broncos joining the Mountain West Conference.

There were rumblings last year when BSU was talking about joining the MWC that opposing coaches thought the blue-on-blue-on blue color scheme gave the Broncos an unfair advantage. San Diego Aztecs coach Rocky Long called the blue turf in Boise "unfair". He said players track the ball differently on the colored surface.

Peterson said his team has several new color options available - courtesy of Nike.
