The first round of the 24th Rosauers Open Invitational took place today at Indian Canyon GC. Leading after the first round were PGA Professionals Darek Franklin of Willamette Valley CC (Portland, OR) and Jerry Johnson of Ocean Shores, WA with amateur Chris Everson of Horn Rapids GC (Richland, WA) after firing rounds of 9 under par 62.
Amateur Jeff Sweat of Manito G&CC (Spokane, WA) made a hole-in-one on #13.
The Rosauers Open Invitational will continue tomorrow with tee times ranging from 7:30 am - 2:30 pm off # 1 and # 10 tees. The Rosauers Open Invitational is a 54 hole individual competition. Results will be emailed nightly at around 8:00 pm. Tee times and results will also be posted nightly at www.pnwpga.com.
Proceeds from the Rosauers Open Invitational will benefit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Spokane's safe haven for children at risk of abuse and neglect. The Nursery also provides counseling, education and referrals for parents of young children. The 2010 event alone made $130,000 for the charity with over $1.96 million raised through the years.
