David Bingham, playing his first game as a professional, scored a goal against West Bromwich.
Granted, goals are hard to come by in soccer. Even more rare is a goal scored by a goalkeeper. So when San Jose keeper David Bingham scored Tuesday in an exhibition match against West Bromwich, the world took notice. And so did SWX.
In just the third minute of the game, Bingham picked up a ball in the box, dropped it to the turf and let loose. His kick sailed the length of the field, bounced over the opposing keeper's head and into the back of the net.
It also happened to be Bingham's first game as a professional.
After the game, Bingham said he "just over-hit it and got lucky."
I'd say!
