PULLMAN, Wash. - Junior center DeAngelo Casto has left Washington State University and will be filing the paperwork next week to enter the NBA draft. "I've been told I can make it in the NBA (and that's) my dream," Casto said Friday, reached in Las Vegas where he has been training at the Impact Basketball facility, "but I'm not opposed to going overseas and making money that way too for a year and then coming back."More >>

Former Ferris Saxon and Washington State Cougar DeAngelo Casto signed a one-year contact to play professional basketball on Wednesday. For a team in Turkey.

Casto signed on to play with Antalya BSB of the Turkish Basketball League, the team announced. The team went 14-18 overall and finished eighth in the TBL. Casto will replace Brad Buckman who signed with Tofas Bursa a few weeks ago.

Casto left WSU a year early and made himself eligible for the NBA draft but no one signed him to a contract. While in Pullman he started 30 of the 33 games in which he appeared and averaged 6.8 rebounds per game. He led the Pac-10 with 1.8 blocks per game and averaged 12.0 points per contest.

A native of Spokane, Casto joins 14 other former Cougars in the professional ranks.
