SPOKANE, Wash. -- With a crowd of 4,334 at Avista Stadium waving their rally towels, right fielder Ruben Sierra stepped to the plate and delivered the biggest hit of the young season for the Indians.

The left-handed Sierra, the son of former major leaguer Ruben Sierra, launched a two-run home run into the Spokane night that scored Trever Adams and led the Indians to a 6-4 victory over the Yakima Bears. Sierra's home run, his first as an Indian, was the last of four unanswered runs scored by Spokane after falling behind 4-2.

The Bears plated four runs against Indians starter Richard Alvarez but were shut down by Juan Grullon (4-0), who worked out of trouble in the fifth, and then held Yakima at bay in the sixth, seventh, and eighth. Closer Matt West struck out two Bears batters in the ninth inning on the way to his second save of the season.

Adams, who started the Indians rally in the eighth, collected two more base knocks to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Nick Vickerson delivered a pair of hits from the two hole in the Spokane lineup and Drew Robinson had two RBI's on a bases-loaded single in the second.
