Ironman 2011: Craig Alexander and Julie Dibens Win

Coeur d'Alene, ID - Two-time world champion Craig Alexander won today's Ironman Coeur d'Alene with a record time of 8:19:48.  Alexander had splits of  50:46 for the swim, 4:38:44 on the bike bike and a blistering a 2:46:54 marathon.  Maik Twelsiek finished second with a time of 8:24:59, while Tom Evans was third more than 30 minutes off the pace.            

Great Britain's Julie Dibens, gutted out a tough win on the women's side.  She lead the race from start to finish setting the course record in 9:16:40.  Her splits the   day were 52:36 for the swim. 4:52:18 on the bike and a 3:27:09 marathon.  Dibens win comes in only the second Ironman of her career.   Cait Snow captured second more than 12 minutes behind.
