SEATTLE (AP) - Recently acquired Yonder Alonso hit his first homer for Seattle and drove in three runs, and Marc Rzepczynski struck out Chris Davis with the bases loaded to end the Mariners' 7-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Alonso, acquired in a trade with Oakland on Aug. 6, hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning, his 23rd of the season. He added an RBI single during a three-run fifth and also singled in the seventh.

SEATTLE (AP) - Jewell Loyd scored 16 points and Crystal Langhorne made a go-ahead basket with 11.1 seconds left, helping the Seattle Storm beat the Minnesota Lynx 62-61 on Wednesday night. Loyd had a shot blocked on a drive but it fell to Langhorne in the lane for a layup to give Seattle the lead.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) - The Seattle Seahawks have added depth to their secondary by signing former San Francisco starting cornerback Tramaine Brock. Seattle added Brock to its roster Wednesday, a day after meeting with him.

Former NFL quarterback and Washington State star Ryan Leaf is joining SiriusXM's for regular talk show appearances on the satellite radio's college sports channel. Leaf was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 1997 and the second overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. His NFL career was a bust and after football he struggled with substance abuse and served time in prison for burglary and drug charges. Leaf will debut on SiriusXM College Sports Nation on Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. ET with co-host Jason Horowitz.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Even though they retired after last season, three Portland Timbers didn't ride off into the sunset. They moved from the field to the cubicle, so to speak. Former captain Jack Jewsbury is now Portland's director of business development, while fellow midfielder Ned Grabavoy was named director of scouting and recruitment. And defender Nat Borchers joined the Timbers' broadcast team.
