The Spokane Chiefs wrapped up a 5 game road trip with a 5-1 win over the Tri City Americans Monday night in Kennewick. It was Spokane's second win in 3 days in the Tri Cities and lifted the Chiefs into first place in the U.S. division by a point over idle Portland. The Chiefs wrapped up the road trip 4-1 as they won their last 4 in a row.

Spokane jumped out to a 1-0 lead 9:08 into the contest as Matt Marantz took a Blake Gal pass at the point and scored his 16th goal of the year. Tri City would even the game at 13:25 on a Connor Rankin goal, but Spokane would answer at 15:44 as Darren Kramer scored his 6th of the year from Jared Cowen and Marantz to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead after the first.

Spokane would extend the lead on Brendan Kichton's 20th goal of the season at 13:25 of the second period. Levko Koper and Tyler Johnson picked up the assists. Kichton became the 4th Chiefs defenseman in history to score 20 goals and the first since Bryan McCabe in the 1993-94 season. The goal was also Kichton's 6th in his last 4 games.

The Chiefs would build on the lead in the third period as Kenton Miller scored his 10th of the season from Steve Kuhn and Tyler Vanscourt to give Spokane a 4-1 lead at 4:40 of the period.

The Chiefs will return home to begin a 3 game homestand when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds Wednesday night at 7pm.
