The North Central girls forced an extra game in the 3A tournament Wednesday night by beating top-seeded Shadle Park 42-41.

Lindsey Schaefer hit two free throws with six seconds left in the game to take the lead and the win.

The two teams will meet again Thursday to decide who advances to regional playoffs. Only one 3A team from the Greater Spokane League will advance, making Thursday's fame a do-or-die situation.

Schafer scored 14 for the Indians. Riley Holsinger added 11. Aleisha Hathaway led the Highlanders with 13 points.

Thursday's game gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at Shadle.

Boys Also Force Final Game

Not to be outdone, the boys from North Central also forced a final and deciding game by upsetting top-seeded University 66-59.

Aaron Antoine led the way with 16 points for the Indians. Zac Hill had 15, while Gunnar Swaggar had 14 and five rebounds.

The same two teams will play again on Thurday.
