American Legion Descends on Spokane for World Series on SWX

The field of eight teams playing in this year's American Legion World Series is all set. The games, which kick off Friday at Avista Stadium in Spokane include Roseburg, which won the Northwest Division in Spokane to qualify for the Series.

Other teams that qualified for the World Series include:
Northeast Division:  Branford, Conn.
Southeast Division: Kernersville, N.C.
Central Plains Division: Eden Prairie, Minn.
Northwest Division: Roseburg, Ore.
Mid-Atlantic Division: Chesapeake, Va.
Great Lakes Division: Moline, Ill.
Mid-South Division: Midwest City, Okla.
Western Division: Las Vegas, Nev.

The 14 games, all of which will be broadcast live on SWX-TV, begin Friday at 10 a.m.

Friday's games:

  • Kernersville, NC vs. Las Vegas (10 a.m.)
  • Chesapeake, Va. vs. Midwest City, Okla. (1 p.m.)
  • Branford, Conn. vs. Moline, Ill. (5 p.m.)
  • Roseburg, Ore. vs. Eden Prairie, Minn. (8 p.m.)
