CHENEY, Wash. - The much anticipated shipment of Eastern Washington's red artificial turf arrived on Tuesday. And boy, is it red!

The SprinTurf, as it's called, arrived in rolls and was made ready for installation. Sports Information Director Dave Cook said workers probably wouldn't roll it out onto the field until Wednesday morning.

CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington isn't seeing red just yet. But they will by the time the day's through. Trucks carrying the school's red carpet for the new football field in Cheney are on their way and could arrive at any moment.

A school spokesman said Tuesday morning that the trucks carrying the new, bright red SprinTurf should pull onto campus late in the morning. Workers have a few things to do once it arrives but they expect to begin laying the new surface by the afternoon.

The school said last week the Red Turf project was about two weeks ahead of schedule, thanks to a little cooperation from the weather and the quick preparation work done by Pauletto Trucking and Excavation.
