Nichols Goes Through Rite of Passage with Cowboys

Posted: Updated:

Former Eastern Washington quarterback Matt Nichols was featured in a photo taken by Vernon Baker of the Dallas Morning News last week.

Nichols, now with the Dallas Cowboys, was photographed carrying the shoulder pads of starting quarterback Tony Romo. Under the picture was Bryant's commentary:

"Rookies tend to have to go through a rite of passage of sorts getting rookie treatment from some of the veterans. Rookies might have to carry shoulder pads, get a drink for a player, or even sport a ridiculous haircut. You never know what you might have to do."

Ordinarily, hazing isn't something Eastern Washington fans get too excited about. In this case, however, it might be safe to say that seeing one of their most prolific former players on an NFL practice field is sweet satisfaction.
