Yakima Plays Spoiler Role, Shuts Out Spokane

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, WA -- After an exhilarating 15-inning win Wednesday night the Spokane Indians ran out of steam, getting shut out by the Yakima Bears 2-0 on Thursday. Spokane mustered only 5 hits in the loss, none for extra bases.

Yakima got all of its offense with one swing of the bat. In the top of the 4th, Raywilly Gomez hit a 2-run homerun off of Indians starter Ben Henry, his second homer of the year.

The Indians were unable to capitalize on first-place Boise's 7-2 loss to Tri-City, as Spokane remains a half game out of first place in the East Division with 5 games remaining in the first half of the season.  Spokane looks to rebound Friday night in their series finale with the Bears on Military Appreciation Night.  First pitch is set for 6:30.
